I spent 3+ years being the legal caregiver for my father with cancer treatment, congestive heart failure and dialysis 3-4 days a week... it was an experience I would not trade for the world. I believe that being responsible and reliable is very important, but ultimately being a friend for someone in need is the balance that makes a caregiving experience equally worth while. I believe a caregiver is someone you can rely on for any physical needs, but also being a companion to help you with any of the mental burdens.
