About Jane

I am a certified postpartum and infant care doula (ProDoula). It is a love of young children that drew me to this work, along with an appreciation for the complexities of parenting at every stage. I have been working professionally in this role for three years, after retiring from a long career in university administration while raising my own two children. I am available for one-time or short-term recurring infant and toddler care. Working with babies and new families is my passion. Jane has been such a joy and a lifesaver for our family. She began caring for our son when he was about 9 months old - prime time for apprehension toward new people and strong attachment to mom and dad. Her calm, gentle, fun personality quickly won him over and within a week, he was all smiles with her and excited to play. Jane cares for our son for four hours a day, M-F and she is always on time. We also appreciate how communicative she is; when she accepted the job, she told us of existing conflicts and she makes an effort to let us know of upcoming conflicts with as much notice has possible. It is so easy and such a pleasure to work with her and we're truly grateful to have found her.
