About Janet

We are so thankful that Janet is caring for my wife. My wife suffers from a severe and progressive neurologic disorder which has rendered her almost unable to speak and has weakened her hands such that she can do little other than watch videos on YouTube. On arrival, Janet immediately undertook the arduous task of coaxing my wife into conversation, a difficult task because the disease adversely affected both the volume of her voice but also her articulation. But Janet persisted, and they held multiple conversations, initially about current events, but then involving a variety of topics, memories, etc. She began playing music in the morning, from opera to Dixieland to country to New Age to Asian. She brought flowers and planted flowering plants on the deck. She helped by typing my wife’s correspondence and by helping her with Zoom sessions, even translating when my wife can’t pronounce effectively. My son frequently brings his two year old daughter. If she runs off unattended, Janet will keep an eye on her, making sure she’s not into some mischief. She even takes our dog for a walk. And then there’s the food. Janet is an exceptional cook, preparing a variety of meals that are both delicious and nutritious. Indeed, my wife said that she prefers Janet’s cooking to anyone else’s, including mine. And I don’t mind, because it’s that good. In short, Janet has worked and succeeded in bringing some joy back into my wife’s life, and for that I will forever be grateful. Thank goodness that Janet is still caring for my wife. I highly recommend her.
