About Janice

My experience with children has been gained through motherhood, through care of nieces and nephews, and through children of my friends. When my youngest brother's wife died a few years ago, I moved to be with him and his two young sons for several months and helped them through a difficult time by driving them to school and appointments, cooking, cleaning, reading to them at night, working on chore charts to teach them about responsibilities associated with self care and helping their father with maintaining a household once I was gone. And I have enjoyed many overnight stays at my home with the two daughters of friends from India watching movies, teaching them to cook Italian food and to bake cakes and cookies, and introducing them to new books.
