About Jennifer

I've always been in touch with a deep sense of nurturing. In high school, I baby-sat part-time for children ranging in age from 4 months (twins) to 14 years (special needs child). In college, I joined Americorps and worked for a national early education organization that recruits and trains college students to serve preschool children in low-income neighborhoods. With J., I worked at a preschool in Roxbury, MA from 2002 - 2003. In the years since college, I have worked in other industries but always maintained personal connections with close friends and family members with children. So, while it has not been a primary source of income these past few years, spending time around children has remained important to me, on a personal level. For the past two years, I have taken up a care-giving role once again, this time caring for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. While it is not the same as working with children, I believe that the skills I have honed during this time.
