About Joanne

Hello my name is Joanne. My experience was my mother with Alzheimer's. I was her live-in caregiver (5 years). I managed her life, doctors and I made sure she had all the food that she liked. She was on a significant amount of medication that I oversaw. When her care required more than we could do at home, we found someplace nice for her and I visited almost every night. By this point she was nonverbal, with the mentality of maybe a 3-year-old and could not walk. She left my care before she needed help with a special diet (puree). I do not offer transportation (unless someone else drives). And food prep would require a discussion. I currently work with disabled adults (I/DD) from 8-4 weekdays so looking for work afterward to supplement or Saturdays. Prior (last year), I was a member of a care team for an elderly woman I knew (92). I helped with lunch, light housekeeping and companionship. She told me I had a gentle touch (I washed her hair).
