About Joan

My experience in the field of nursing, education, sports, the preforming arts, and childcare gives me a holistic perspective on care . With knowledge in applied behavior therapy, my work with kids and teens have also provided me useful strategies for emotional regulation. I am a clinical mental health masters degree candidate. My objective is to create a safe and nuturing environment while enriching children in social skills, emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, learning skills, exploration, creative play, health and education. I encourage positive navigation of life at each stage of their growth. My preference is to engage in activities that maximize growth and well being for the child according to their preferences and passions. Rarely will you find kids in my care on a tablet or iPad, unless required by school for educational or tutoring purposes. You will find us, however, passionately living life and making new discoveries.
