About Jodie

I've been caring for elderly people the past 4 1/2 years. I have cared for two elderly people and a woman with Alzheimer's who just recently passed. I enjoy being good company for them and I love hearing their life stories. I prepare meals, help with medications, assist with feeding when needed, light housework, grocery shopping, help with bathing, dressing, laundry and whatever else they may need. My schedule can be flexible to a point. I cannot work full time as I do have a gentleman I care for 12 hours a week. I like to build friendships with my clients. I want them to feel like I'm a friend and not just a worker that is coming into their home. I pride myself in taking care of people the way I would want someone to take care of me or one of my family members. In my spare time I enjoy walking, kayaking, country line dancing, camping, reading or just watching a good movie. I'm originally from NC but came to Florida to be close to my aging mother.

Jodie always brightens my day as soon as she walks in my door. I am in a wheelchair and can only take a very few steps. She has never made me feel like I have a disability. She has become like my sister over the past 4 years. She helps me with bathing and dressing. She does my grocery shopping, prepares my meals, my meds, does my laundry, light housekeeping, trims my nails, cuts my hair and whatever else I need. You couldn't ask for a better person. I hope she stays my caregiver forever.
