About Jody

Finding the right companion for my mother was one of the hardest parts of her dementia journey. The first two caregivers we tried simply were not the right fit. By that stage of her illness, my mother's cognitive decline had caused her to become withdrawn, critical, and at times suspicious of others. She needed someone with extraordinary patience, compassion, and the ability to meet her where she was each day. Out of frustration, I asked one of the nurses at her assisted living community if she knew of anyone she would recommend. She immediately mentioned Jody, who had been working with another resident whose family had recently moved out of state. Looking back, finding Jody was one of the greatest blessings we could have hoped for. What sets Jody apart—beyond her kindness, patience, and reliability—is her remarkable ability to bring calm and stability to even the most challenging situations. She did not simply spend time with my mother; she formed a genuine connection with her. On good days they laughed together, went out to run errands, and genuinely enjoyed each other's company. On difficult days, Jody's patience never wavered. She understood that the behaviors she encountered were symptoms of the disease, never taking them personally and always responding with empathy and grace. Her flexibility and dedication were truly exceptional. Jody rearranged her own schedule whenever urgent needs arose. During one medical emergency, she went to the hospital without hesitation and stayed with my mother until I was able to get there. That level of responsibility, commitment, and genuine concern is incredibly rare. Jody was an absolute godsend to both my mother and me. She became so much more than a companion, she was a source of stability during an incredibly challenging time. Knowing my mother was with someone who genuinely cared about her well-being gave me tremendous peace of mind. I never doubted that my mother's best interests were always Jody's highest priority. Any family would be fortunate to have her. I highly recommend Jody without hesitation or reservation.
