For the past three summers, I have served as the assistant supervisor of the Adventures Program at the Kennebunk Beach Improvement Association in Kennebunk, Maine. As the assistant supervisor, I am in charge of typically around 50-70 kids, ages 4-12, in an open air environment by the ocean. I am also in charge of sending kids to their classes in s timely manner and keeping kids busy with my counselors, making sure the choldren are eating, staying hydrated, and being good people. I also ran teen night once a week for the 13-14-year-old CITs, who I would bring on group bonding trips. I first started working at the camp as a counselor when I was 15, and just finished up my sixth summer at KBIA. My ability to deal with big feelings and understand children at different ages and abilities is something I take great pride in.
