About Josie

Hi! My name is Josie. I am an artist and future hairdresser. I attended Roosevelt University as a Sociology student, I loved it, but decided to use my passion for people and learning in more creative and hands on experiences. I am from Minneapolis, and have been in Chicago for 8 months now! As a teenager I picked up babysitting jobs here and there, and supported my sister as she grew her family to include my wonderful nieces. Including but not limited to caring for my nieces, I've worked with kids ages 2-7 as well as worked with 9th-12th graders as an assistant art teacher. My backround in art informs how I interact with kids. Imaginative play, arts and crafts, and creativity are large focuses. I was taught fine arts, which provides the skills to incorporate structure, boundaries, and how we work with them to teach responsibility and growth in a fun environment.
