About Kaitlyn

Hello, my name is Kaitlyn. I am a Grand Rapids, MI native. I work part-time as a server and am also a singer/songwriter. I love to learn, challenge myself, travel and experience other cultures, drink tea, bake, dance, watch rainstorms, take walks, bike, etc. I am very down to earth and very active. I studied music in college and got a liberal arts degree. I do not smoke and I am CPR certified. Why Child Care? I am the 7th of 9 children in my own family, and grew up caring for my two younger siblings. Around the age of 11, I began babysitting for family friends and did various jobs babysitting, house sitting, and watching pets throughout my teen years when people needed help. I've worked with newborns all the way through 13-year-olds, and have also been a camp counselor, a small group leader for pre-teen girls, and have taught English at two schools in India to 7-16-year-olds. The longest I've work with one family was a year; I cared for their three daughters ages 2, 5, and 8.
