About Kara

I am currently a third year doctoral psychology student at William James College, with a specific concentration in child/adolescent psychology. After graduating with a B. A. in psychology in 2019, I began working as a mental health counselor at McLean Hospital's Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Institute for Children and Adolescents (OCDI Jr), where I remained for six years. Throughout high school and undergrad I worked as both a lifeguard/swim instructor and as a nanny where I gained experience working with children of all ages and developmental levels. When working with children I believe it is important to create a safe environment that allows them the space to explore their creativity and develop autonomy in a fun and exciting way.
