About Kara

My name is Kara and I am passionate about learning and helping others learn in the best way for them. I am a certified elementary K-6 teacher with six years of classroom teaching experience. I have been tutoring students since I was a junior in high school and truly love it. I specialize in reading and writing, specifically getting students to love reading and writing by incorporating their unique interests and passions into their learning. I have a knack for connecting with students and building positive relationships to foster the most positive learning environment possible. I love getting to see my students succeed. School can be a sensitive topic for a lot of students today. With more and more students needing academic support and feeling like they're falling behind, it can create a sense of fear and anxiety around school. My goal is to make your child fall in love with learning and teach them the skills they need to have a successful academic experience.
