About Karen

I'm a proud mama of two adult children-both university graduates. Both attended a parent-cooperative K-8 school where I spent years teaching art, supporting science, reading, and writing, and chairing multiple school events. My love of working with kids lead to my current work as a substitute para-educator from pre-K through high school. I have hands-on experience with newborns. I believe play, consistency, and calm structure are the foundation of creating a trusting relationship with both kids and parents. I'm also an animal lover and comfortable in homes with pets.
