I am an experienced special education teacher with 30 years experience in public schools. My teaching experience has been with children with significant intellectual/physical disabilities. I have many years of experience with children with Down's Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, and other disabilities. I retired 4 years ago and have been working part-time with the same family since then. The children are an 11-year-old boy with special physical needs and his 12-year-old sister. For the past year, I have also been working part-time with a second family caring for their 4 month boy who is now 14 months old. I spent a lot of time helping him to meet his developmental milestones in all areas. I also have worked with 2 1/2-year-old twin girls for 6 months. I am willing do light housekeeping, and prepare simple meals/snacks and transport children. I can provide a background check upon request and personal references from the families I work with.

Denise has been with our family for the past year, caring for our son and becoming one of the greatest gifts of our early parenthood journey. She taught our son sign language, helped him learn to identify and process his emotions, and created a space where he always felt safe and understood. Her impact on his development has been incredible — she has helped shape the kind, curious, and emotionally aware little boy he is becoming. We are truly heartbroken to be parting ways due to scheduling changes. Denise has been an essential part of our lives and our son’s world, and any family would be lucky beyond measure to have her.
