About Karen

My father has been training dogs for over 30 years, and my Mother even longer. I grew up with over 15 dogs and cats; and this does not include the rescue dogs nor the dogs my Dad took in for sitting or training. The breeds included German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Belgian Malinois, Retrievers, and Shelties. I also pet-sat for some neighbors, which included two mixed breeds and dachshunds. At first, my parents trusted the dogs to watch over me, but soon I got to help my Dad train, and take them for walks. I have helped my Father train dogs for Shutzhund, French Ring, Police Work, Agility trials, tracking, and I helped my Mother train two dogs for guide dog work. I am more than willing to watch dogs and cats, I have some small experience with small mammals, birds and reptiles, but am far more comfortable with dogs and cats, all breeds and sizes. I am also willing to do some minor dog grooming; bathing, trimming nails, brushing, as long as the dog does not become aggressive during the process.
