I'd describe my personality as empathetic, reliable and hardworking. I like working with kids because I enjoy watching and helping them learn and grow. I'm looking for a job where I may be able to grow with the family and that offers competitive benefits and salary. I would love to be able to take child/children to fun places to explore together and learn. I would also love to have a family that has furbabies! I am hoping for a job that allows me to have Mondays off. I started working with kids when I was very young, professionally started in 2009. In my spare time, I like to be home or on vacation with my family, help with the animal rescue mission, visit zoos and aquariums, read, bike, kayak, dog walk, travel and go to the beach. One thing you should know about me is that I do not like to cook. If you are looking for someone to cook and meal prep for your family, that is unfortunately not something I add to my resume. My skills include patience, safety, teaching and fun!
Kate was our nanny for 7 years for our 2 boys (currently ages 8 and 5, starting with they were 18 months and from birth for our youngest) and was such a blessing to our family - she is fantastic with our kids and supporting the whole household. In addition to childcare, she also takes care of our cat and dog (feeds, walks, makes vet appointments, takes them to the vet) and sometimes helps with household support (related to the children such as folding laundry, doing dishes, making appointments and scheduling things like swim lessons, school drop offs and pick ups, etc). Most importantly - she loves our kids and they love her. Her care is outstanding! Providing a safe, fun, supportive environment, she ensures they meet milestones and teaches them age-appropriate things. Kate has proactively adapted activities based on age appropriateness and interests of the children throughout her time with us. Kate enriches their lives by taking them on fun outings to libraries, children's museum, play spaces, and playgrounds. She is very reliable and a good communicator. She also teaches them manners and values - helping us raise good little humans. She is amazing!!! When she started, our oldest was 18 months old and we didn't know at the time he is Level 1 autistic with ADHD and anxiety. She was such a fantastic advocate for him and supportive through all his struggles, appointments, and helping him daily with appropriate supports. She is patient and kind and very well equipped for special needs children. She is one of the reasons he is as well adjusted with pragmatics as he is. You will not find anyone better than Kate! She has become part of the family, has been amazing with our children, and provided such wonderful support to everyone in our household. Sadly we are no longer able to offer her full-time hours since both children started full-day school. She will be greatly missed!
