About Katherine

Hi! After running an arts & community program for kids & teens for the past 8 years, many of whom had disabilities, I recently transitioned into an administrative nonprofit position. I am eager to continue providing caregiving support to young people in my spare time, empowering them to reach their best potential! I am passionate about building community, active listening, and athletics. In my position as program director, I designed curriculum for & individually mentored 200 young people each year. My caregiving beliefs: every child has something unique & powerful to offer, and should be supported as they cultivate their identity & celebrated for what they contribute; children have the capacity to understand difficult concepts if explained gently & clearly, and benefit from the structure of redirection / being held to high standards; supporting young people should always return to levity, play, acceptance, understanding, and patience.
