Experience: 10 yrs
I am a mother of 2 grown children and Grandmother to 4 children, ages 15, 11, 8, and 3. My experience with children started when I was in high school and has continued into my adult life. My nanny experience started in my early twenties. I also had In Home Daycare when my children were very young. Much of my adult life was spent working in the financial field but I decided to go back to being a nanny in late 2012. I find being a nanny much more rewarding. I would love to discuss the details of my experience with any prospective family. I have excellent references and I am very responsible and caring. I am willing to do light housekeeping, laundry and driving to appointments and school. My driving record is excellent and will show proof. I love art and music and feel it's important for children to experience fun in learning. I also love to read and will take children to the library and to other fun activities. My references will attest to my character and responsibility.
Kathy (or “Tappy,” as my 3-year-old lovingly calls her) is truly a one in a million find, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Kathy has been an absolute blessing to our family. From the moment I found her through Care.com, I just knew that she was going to be the perfect fit for our family—and she exceeded every expectation we could have had. She has been with us for over a year, and I am grateful for her every single day. Kathy has never simply been just our nanny. She has loved, cared for, encouraged, taught, and protected my children as though they were her own. She has created such a safe, happy, nurturing environment for them that I have never once had to worry about my children while they are in her care. Their faces light up, running to her for hugs when she walks through the door in the morning, and they are always smiling at the end of the day. That kind of love and connection is something you simply cannot put a price on. She is also an exceptional communicator. Kathy consistently sends photos and updates throughout the day, keeps us informed, and is always responsive, honest, dependable, and helpful. She is professional, punctual, trustworthy, and incredibly flexible. There have been countless times when we have needed an extra hour of care, help with something unexpected, or assistance with one of the many little things that come with raising children, and Kathy has always been willing to bend over backwards to help us. What makes Kathy so special is that she has good, strong morals and values and she genuinely invests in our children. She doesn't just watch them—she engages with them, teaches them, encourages them, and helps them grow. She has created countless fun arts and crafts activities, which she is absolutely amazing at, helped us through potty training our 2-year-old, and worked with our 5-year-old on learning to read and write and so much more. She finds ways to make learning fun and always meets each child where they are. Most importantly, Kathy has given our family something every parent hopes to find in a caregiver: complete trust and peace of mind. Knowing that your children are safe, happy, loved, and genuinely cared for while you're away is priceless and Kathy has given us that peace of mind every single day. It breaks my heart that she will no longer be part of our everyday routine. She has become such an important part of our children's lives—and ours. She has become family to us, and although we won't get to see her every day anymore, she will always have a special place in our hearts and in our family. To any family considering hiring Kathy: please don't hesitate one second. Hire her before someone else does. You will be incredibly lucky to have her. She has a heart of gold, an extraordinary gift for caring for children, and a level of dedication that is becoming harder and harder to find. Kathy is, without question, the best nanny and caregiver we could have ever asked for. She is trustworthy, loving, dependable, compassionate, creative, hardworking, and again, truly one in a million. Any family would be incredibly fortunate to have her caring for their children.
