Kathleen worked for us from September 2022 until November 2022 when she quit suddenly, leaving us high and dry.  She demanded 5 hours a day, 5 days a week (even thought we really wanted less) and proceeded to sit on the sofa doing nothing for 3 of the 5 hours.  The Wednesday before Thanksgiving and she asked my mom if she wanted her on Friday, my mom said if you want the day off, that's fine.  My mom proceeded to write her a check for Mon-Wed (the days she was there) and she said that my mom had to pay her for Thursday and Friday even though she wasn't working.  This was NEVER discussed.  As an hourly/temporary employee she is NOT entitled to paid days off.   So she quit.   We did find another wonderful lady who my parents adore and she actually WORKS for her money, so they are out there!  But, if you are looking to pay someone for sitting on her butt and to be paid when not even there, and then quit with no notice, then Kathleen is your girl.

Katie has been taking care of my mom for 15 months.  She cares for my mom as though she's family and my mom truly loves her.  Katie understands the patience and compassion that is needed to care for someone with Alzheimer's.  She is thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable and extremely trustworthy.  I highly recommend her.

I am a granddaughter to the woman Kathleen is caregiver for.  Grandma looks forward to seeing her every morning, asks where she is on her days off, just overall LOVES her. If you are in liver failure and going through the absolute worst time in your life and want to be abandoned without any notice and lied to by  the person you are totally dependent on this is the person to hire.
This woman worked for me. I was completely dependent. And although I found her cold and utterly lacking in compassion  I very grateful to find someone seemly competent and dependable. Or so I thought.
After finding my house keys on the seat of my car I called her and I asked her directly if she was happy and told her if she got another offer to come to me. She instructed me to send a list for Monday and she would see me then. Sunday late afternoon she informed she had another job and would not be returning. Leaving me completely helpless.  Liver disease causes severe depression. She said she dealt with this way she did because she feared I would have a panic attack. I did but it was in front of my parents who she knew were with me. My father is 92 and my mother is 90.

Katie is remarkable: she cared for our mother as if she were family. 
Katie went above and beyond to make our mother's days safe, interesting, enjoyable and fun.  As background, our 78 year old mother had had multiple mini-strokes, and presented like someone who had mild Alzheimer's disease.  We engaged Katie to both hire and manage the other aides who provided 24/7 care for our mother, and to take care of our mother herself.  She did both exceptionally well.  Because she has experience hiring, training and managing aides for both single-client homes as well as elderly-care enterprises, she understood the experience of aides and matched those people who would work best with our mother.  When issues with aides arose, Katie addressed such quickly and professionally.  Katie's care and attention made our mother's last months happy and fun.   Our mother considered her a lovely person and a good friend.  Our family owes her an enormous debt of gratitude.

Katie worked for our family as a home health aide taking care of my mother over the past four months. From the first day she arrived, she was extremely responsible, helpful, organized, professional, and developed a caring relationship with my mother. Shortly after she arrived, we put her in charge of the other aides in the rotation since my mother was receiving care 24/7. She managed the other aides, making sure they were delivering top service and care to my mother, and made changes to the staffing when they were needed. Even more importantly, she really got to know my mother and made a significant difference in the final months of her life. She realized my mother was interested in bird watching so she set up bird feeders in the patio and bought my mother several bird guides and identification books. My mother loves architecture and agriculture, so she took my mother on long drive through the countryside. She was terrific in every way. I highly recommend her.

Kathleen has been working for several months with both my mother and father. She not only understands the different needs that they both present, but also knows how to approach both of them in a caring and compassionate manner. Kathleen has been punctual, dependable, and has helped us out when needed. Although I do not want to lose her, I would recommend her for hire.
