About Kathleen

Hi! My name is Kathleen 'Kati', and I am passionate about working with youth of all ages. I have a bachelors degree in Indigenous, Race and Ethnic studies, and am currently in school to get a Masters in Counseling: Marriage, Family, and Couples therapy. I would consider myself to be a youth-centered counselor and advocate. I believe deeply in caring for youth and providing them with the opportunity to mess up, grow, and learn without judgement! Currently, I am training in child-centered play therapy. I have learned about play aggression, and the importance of modeling/reflecting emotions & feelings to encourage youth to develop self soothing techniques. I am very art focused, and love to do all kinds of crafts! I hope to incorporate this as a part of my role as a counselor, but also as a caregiver. Relevant coursework: Adult & Child Development, Play Therapy, Practicum (individual and child therapy) I'd describe my personality as grounding, calm, and patient.
