About Kathryn

Hello! My name is Katie. I'm new to AZ, originally from IA. I am currently working as an elementary teacher's assistant in Glendale. I have worked in schools since I was 19, in both general and special education classrooms. I have worked closely with children, ranging from infant to 18 years old, with physical and learning disabilities, behavior disorders, and more. I have an Associates Degree in Applied Science. I believe in creating a balance of fun and educational experiences, whether through creative play, reading, or outdoor activities. I love getting to know what makes a child unique and learning how to meet their individual needs. I'm skilled in managing daily routines, meal prep, transportation and light housekeeping. My goal is to build a trusting, positive relationship with both children and families, ensuring safety and emotional well-being. I understand that family schedules can shift suddenly and I am able to adapt my availability to meet those changing needs.
