About Kathryne

Hi, my name is Kaz, and I've been an ECE for 5 years at a five-star, NAC-accredited daycare in Milwaukee! I've also worked day-time summer camps, and have prior babysitting experience. I've worked with children ages 3 months - 10 years. My favorite ages to work with are under 3s - I love their silliness, their explorations, and their snuggles! A few things about me and my approach to caregiving: - I follow child-led education, so I take the kiddo's lead on what they're interested in and build on it. - physical and emotional safety are paramount. I do not practice "cry it out." - I let children take small risks and figure things out on their own before I step in to help-but I will always help if needed! - Other than necessary physical needs, I let kids come to me for affection. If they don't do hugs, that's okay! If they want all the hugs, fantastic! - Language-I use gentle, affirming language as often as possible, including redirection, validation, explanations, etc.
