About Kathryn

I have helped my 91-year-old grandmother who lives with my parents. She is partially mobile (uses a walker, but is very weak with severe arthritis), but needs help with daily activities (dressing, cooking, cleaning, laundry, transportation, etc). She is primarily alert and oriented, has short-term memory impairment, and has occasional visual/auditory hallucinations. I often help with the daily activities, provide companionship, and remind her to take her medication throughout the day. Having helped to care for my grandmother, I understand the support that the elderly need on a daily basis. They aren't able to do everything themselves, and I can empathize with the frustration they must be feeling day-to-day. Simply having someone for them to talk to can be the difference between a "good" day and a "bad" day. About me: I love art, music, animals, and going for walks! I work a full time day job Monday-Friday, but my weekend availability during the day can be flexible if needed!
