About Katie

Hi, my name is Katie and I have around 4 years of experience working and caring for children between the ages of 18mo-7yo. I also have 3 years of experience working with children who have intellectual disabilities such as autism and adhd. I am a patient and passionate person who cares deeply about providing children a high level of care and support! I stumbled into working with children during my first year of college and have fallen in love with it ever since. I have years of experience working with children who are nonverbal and use other modes of communication such as gestures, AAC devices, and scripts to communicate. I have experience with children who may struggle with emotional regulation and have different kinds of sensory needs. I have experience with creating and maintaining a schedule as well as choosing and setting up developmentally appropriate activities. In my free time I enjoy crocheting, hiking, playing my Nintendo Switch, and snuggling with my cats.
