About Kayla

Hi! I recently moved to Federal Hill in Providence after completing my first year of a PhD program in Evolution and Marine Biology at the University of Rhode Island. This summer, I'll be working in my research lab Tuesday through Thursday and am hoping to support a family in need of childcare, pet care, or household help on Mondays and Fridays. Before starting graduate school, I worked at a boarding school where I taught Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, while also serving as a dorm parent, academic advisor, and coach. I have two years of nannying experience with a family that had two children, one with special needs, ranging in age from 18 months to 5 years old during my time with them. For families with school-aged children, I'm also happy to provide STEM tutoring and academic support. I love working with children, helping them learn and grow, and creating a safe, engaging, and positive environment. I'd love to learn more about your family's needs to see if I might be a good fit!
