I have 4 plus years of experience in caring for my late mother-in-law. The fourth year, we moved our family in with my mother in law to help care for her. She was a diabetic, had COPD, Neuropathy, macular degenerative disease, and renal failure. I managed her medications , her insulin, her doctors appointments took her to and from dialysis. She was also in a wheel chair. For two years, my husband's aunt lived with us. She had Dementia. She initially moved in with us after suffering a stroke. She got her license back and drove for a few months. We eventually had to take her car away as she had been in an accident. Eventually, I took her every where she needed to go. Doctors, hairdresser, church and food shopping. Towards the end she refused to leave the house. She could only remember our dog. She stopped taking her meds, stopped eating, and stopped bathing. Her son came out from England and brought her to live with his family in the UK.
