About Kristen

I have been a teacher for over 12 years. I have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education and love teaching reading and math at the K-2 level! I blend focused teaching with hands-on lessons to make tutoring fun and engaging. I'd describe my personality as caring, kind and friendly! I tutor for 1 hour sessions in the afternoons and early evenings. I started tutoring when I saw that some students needed support outside of the classroom setting. I saw that students who learned all parts of reading and math skills became happier, more confident and comfortable in school! In my spare time, I like to read, cook and take my dogs for walks. I do a little gardening as well! One thing you should know about me is I am a skilled and experienced teacher. I love teaching and helping students become more successful. My skills include phonemic awareness, beginning reading skills and comprehension and numeracy skills as the basis of learning math.
