Experience: 6 yrs
I have 17 years of taking care of children in various occupations. I have been a full time nanny for about the last six years for four different families. The first job was with a little boy from age 2 to age 5. The second and current job is a nanny share for a 19-month-old girl and a 18 month boy since they were 5 months and 6 months. The most recent position was for a 21-month-old. I can start the second week of September full time and part time now if needed.
Kristen is reliable, kind, experienced, and I would recommend her for baby care! Kristen nannied for my son from 7 months old to 13 months, along with another younger baby in a nanny share. My son became mobile and started eating solids in her care. Our nanny share needs led to a complex schedule that changed week-to-week. Kristen handled this gracefully; being on time, willing to flex and add hours and days, never needed to be reminded of the schedule, never forgot commitments. She communicates very well verbally and by text. As a first time mom, I benefited a lot from Kristen’s years of experience, and she gave great advice when I asked her questions. My son was a difficult napper, and Kristen was pivotal in crib-training him during the day, using the Ferber method, and giving occasional contact naps when he was upset. At 13 months he is in a much better nap routine than when he started, thanks to Kristen. After we discussed solid foods, Kristen was proactive about assembling breakfast and lunch from the fridge, saving me lots of time planning and preparing during the work day. She worked on fine motor skills like picking up Cheerios, and even taught him a couple ASL signs to communicate better around meal time. Throughout the day she would incorporate age appropriate activities, books, music, and fresh air. Her bond clearly grew with both children over the engagement; it was especially sweet that she found a special song with each of them, and she helped make my son’s first birthday special. Our nanny share experience was a good one and I would recommend Kristen.
