About Kristin

I am writing on behalf of Kristin A. who is applying for a nanny position. I met Kristin when she was 2 years old, when her mother became my daughters daycare provider. My children were cared for by Kristin's mother from birth until 12 years of age. I have had the pleasure of watching Kristin grow up to be a kind, gentle and loving lady. I highly recommend Kristin for the position to which she has applied for. I have three reasons why I know Kristin will do a great job caring for children. First, because of the experience she had, watching her mother be the best daycare provider for my children and others in the community. My girls, even though they are now 16 years old and 18 years old, they still go visit Mrs. Debbie A. My girls often reminisce about the good times playing in the backyard and going to recreational sport activities for two examples and also of the times when they did not feel well and Debbie would hold them. Kristin's mother has shown Kristin over many years how to care for, whether feeling well or not so well, entertain and encourage children from birth and up. Second, when my girls were too old to go to daycare, but on occasions when they would be home for more than a couple hours alone, I would ask Kristin to come stay with the girls. This was a win - win situation for me. My girls enjoyed being with her and I knew she would see that homework would be completed, she could prepare a meal and if there was an emergency, Kristin being a calm and fast thinking person, would know what needed to be done. Third, Kristin has been a counselor at a summer camp for children from ages 4 to 18 years old, for the past 5 years. She started as a Counselor In Training, and worked her way up to Senior Counselor. For three of those years, I was the camp nurse. During that time, I had the opportunity to observe Kristin interact with the children. Kristin showed responsibility by choosing age appropriate expectations, games, and lessons. During registration on Sunday afternoon, each week of the camping season, I would hear from returning campers, "I want to be in Kristin's cabin." Or, from new campers, "I was told I want to ask to be in Kristin's cabin." Hearing this from the campers, tells me that Kristin knows how to interact and care for children of all ages and did her job at camp well. I am confident that Kristin is more than ready for the challenge. She conducts herself professionally, respects confidentiality, is flexible and is able to connect with children of all ages.
