I have been blessed to be able to help raise families for the last 25 years. I realize looking at that written out, it comes across like I m a grandma type! Nothing could be further from the truth. I completely believe age is in the mind of the beholder and it s always been one of the reasons I love raising kids and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. I ve been asked what my favorite age is, and I always tell this story. I have a family that I nannied for when their boys were 3 years old and 4 months old. I basically lived through and thoroughly enjoyed every single age and am STILL enjoying them; one is now in college and 23, the other is 26 and has a 1-year-old daughter of his own. I wouldn t have missed any part of it. There is something unique and wonderful and so fulfilling in every single year of a child growing up, and if I didn t think it was THE greatest gift a person could ever experience and be a part of, I wouldn t STILL rather be a nanny than anything else.
