About Lauren

I began nannying in high school for three girls with varying degrees of Autism. I babysat after school and accompanied them on summer holidays as a mother's helper. After college, I began nannying again for a single infant family, with whom I am still in close contact. I have mainly worked with infants but did work with a family of three girls ages 16 months, 4 and 6 years. The youngest age I have worked with is 6 weeks. While I love working with infants, the younger the age means the less variety of out of the house activities. But I like to explore the city with the kids, going to library events, museums, pop up art classes, parks and nature events. Age appropriate outings are something I love to plan for kids. For me, my goal when working with children is to establish a safe space for them to create and discover the world in ways that feel good to them. I love reading and making music. I love preparing organic food with local products, and enjoy helping the families I work for in that dept as well. I treat every child I work with as if they were my own niece or nephew. Being a nanny is a very special job, unlike many other jobs one could have. I also facilitate mural workshops with kids and have taught a toddler art class.
