About Laurie

My wife, Melody was diagnosed with frontal temporal dementia at age 52 .She quickly lost her ability to speak and her progression was fast losing her other faculties. Early on in Melody’s progression I met and interviewed Laurie for over two hours to care for and support my wife. Not only did Laurie have an extensive background in healthcare and home caregiving she had the deepest understanding of the human condition that anybody I have ever met. This was extremely important to me because I wanted somebody not to just care for Melody but help her live a full and enriching life, despite her disease. Laurie was a true blessing for our family as she not only cared for Melody‘s needs she helped her smile , grow and engage in life to the fullest extent possible. Trips to the beach, shopping sprees and Nail Salon visits were all things Melody always loved to do and Laurie kept her engaged in . Melody always cared about her appearance before her illness. Laurie always had her hair and make up perfect and dressed to the nines . Laurie innately knew what Melody was like before she became ill and helped her live that out until her last day. When Melody was in the hospital for four days Laurie was always there. These are just a few examples of the love, Care and spirit that Laurie brings to her role. Anybody who hires Laurie for their loved one will find that she’s a true blessing to their family .
