About Lee

I have experience working with children ages 2-16 from my work as a ski and snowboard coach at the SR Children's Academy in Big Bear, as well as working in Montessori, Waldorf, personal tutoring, and childcare positions. My most significant strength in working with youth would be to empathize and be patient. This is evident in times assisting children while they are dysregulated or experiencing doubt, fear, or sadness, and then finding ways to help them regulate their emotions by helping them to feel safe and understood. I utilize various techniques depending on the situation and have about an 8/10 success rate for children experiencing heighten fears or sensitivities to new or uncertain situations. Another important focus I value is to create an environment that promotes acceptance and kindness towards the self and others by promoting cooperation and support as well as curiosity and a balance between structure and a child based approach to learning.
