I took the course in Clifton . I became a Certified Nurses Aide and then worked at Oakland Care Center part time for three months . Since I was not able to find full time hours at that time I had to leave for another job . For this reason I was not able to renew my certificate the following year . When my mother became ill with Alzheimer's disease then Parkinson's disease I alongside my dad and siblings helped her . We cared for her at home when she was going to rehab and back and fourth to home . Everything from her personal hygiene , medication, cooking and feeding , cleaning and Doctors appointments . Then of course championship and talking to reminder her of important details of her life . Sadly till the end but I was great full to have been able to be there and had the chance to spend the time with her . I very much liked my time working with the seniors I did have at that time . I know how important and hard it can be when a person has to work and can not be there all the time for a parent who may need the care . So it gives me a sense of joy and happiness to be able to help them and care for their needs . Also at the same time I worked at Oakland Care Center I also worked at St. Joseph's Home Little Sisters Of The Poor . I was employed there from June 1993-Febuary1995 my position was a Pantry Aide . That consisted of setting up and cleaning up the dining room for the residents . Getting for the nuns that were serving their food anything they needed which most times was a substitute dinner or additional food etc.
