About Lisa

Hi! My name is Lisa and I have been a classroom teacher for 8 years. I am licensed in elementary education and special education. I have always been passionate about education and helping children reach their fullest potential. My true passion is literacy instruction. I spend a great amount of time researching and learning best practices for teaching my lovely students how to read and nurture a love for reading. I believe that developing a positive relationship with reading is just as important and valuable as learning how to read. This is why my lessons with my students are play based, with giggles, movement, and imagination-all of which are a child's primary modes for learning. However, don't let the fun fools you! These lessons are based on a highly structured, evidence based approach that provides a strong foundation for learning. I can also help with other subjects as well!
