About Lorena

My name is Lorena. I am a bilingual educator and psychologist from Barranquilla, Colombia, living in Newton, MA. My degree in Psychology and specialist degree in Pedagogy and Teaching give me a foundation that goes beyond teaching. I understand how children develop, what they need, and how to respond when things are hard. Parents have trusted me with full responsibility for their children. I provided two years of after school care for children ages two and five, including meals and household tasks. I have traveled with 12 children as the sole adult to national parks and amusement parks. I have worked with special needs children for two years. I believe children learn best through experience. I have had third graders put on Romeo and Juliet in full costume and painted children as planets for a science lesson. I am available for pickups and drop-offs, meal prep , laundry, and light household tasks. I am a native Spanish speaker, CPR certified, and have a valid driver's license.
