About Makayla

Hi! My name is Makayla, and I am an experienced educator with over a year of teaching experience in a project-based micro-school setting, working with students from preschool through high school. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a nanny and babysitter, providing attentive care, creating engaging activities, helping with routines, and supporting children's development. I have taught elementary math, Algebra 1, ASL, learning games, and enrichment classes while supporting both academic and social-emotional growth. I am patient, energetic, creative, and passionate about helping children learn and thrive. In addition to teaching, I have experience as a summer camp counselor, planning engaging activities, maintaining routines, and creating a safe, positive environment for children.
