Hello! My name is Marcella and I am thrilled with the opportunity to work with you. I have worked in numerous educational roles throughout my career, including as a Reading Teacher at a top-ranking Denver middle school. I am currently a Masters student at Duke, and am looking for opportunities to continue working with children and their families. I can confidently say that kids love me and that I love them. However, I always prioritize safety and uphold parental guidelines, meaning I enforce boundaries in clear but kind ways. I love engaging in creative projects and child-directed play. My experience includes working as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Malaysia, a summer camp counselor in Istanbul, a nanny for a family with an infant, and after school driving and care for 3 middle schoolers.

I taught alongside Marcella for the year of 2019. She is incredibly patient and attentive to the students/children she cares for. She's the type of person that students gravitate towards because she is warm and exudes kindness. She has ample experience planning lessons and activities, so nobody under her care will ever be bored! I've seen her plan and execute everything from day-long camps for 18-year olds as well as story-book readings for kindergartners. She's talented and trustworthy and will certainly continue to do a great job caring for other children in the future.
