Experience: 10 yrs
My experience as a caregiver extends from companionship to caring for bedridden patients, from assistance with daily personal care tasks to emotional support. I have been with my patients through Dementia, Alzheimer's, Diabetes, ALS and other struggles for over 15 years. Ready to lend a hand with day-to-day activities: personal care, monitoring vital signs, medication management, errands, transportation, companionship and assistance to meetings, appointments, or other outings. Broad experience with medically-related tasks (ventilator assistance, Hoyer lift transfers, catheter care, wound care, mobility support, etc.) Eligible to work in the US.
Margarita worked as a Caregiver for my long time friend, Linda, (since deceased ); I did the recruitment for her Caregivers. Margarita was hired by Linda in March 2018 and worked as her Caregiver thru April 2023 (5+years). She was an EXCELLENT employee and Linda was very grateful to have Margarita for so many years!! Margarita was VERY patient, kind, caring, she learned quickly and was flexible with her days (if needed INCLUDING holidays!). She also became our "Trainer" for other Caregivers hired over the years. Working for Linda was not typical or easy because she was a Post Polio Survivor, in a wheelchair, with a tracheostomy and she required considerable 24/7 care. Linda was highly intelligent, and able to instruct and guide her Caregivers with all her daily care needs. Margarita helped Linda with all tasks included helping her up in the AM and dressing her for the day as well as helping her undress and to bed in the PM as well as Linda's showering needs. Also, the work included taking her to the bathroom daily, all meal preparation, weekly set up of all Linda's medications, light housecleaning, weekly laundry, maintaining her doctor appointment schedule (as well as misc meetings with friends and business associates), grocery shopping, laundry and driving her to all doctor/other appointments. (Driving Linda anywhere required considerable work in assisting her from wheelchair into the car and folding/lifting the wheelchair into the car and the same upon arrival at an appointment as well as returning home again.) Margarita handled LInda's daily schedule, most of her appointments and often family/holiday gatherings. She was an excellent trainer for new Caregivers which required the sharing of information about Linda and her medical needs as well as the demonstrating of various tasks (suctioning of her trach, helping her in/out of her wheelchair, her bed, toileting, among many other tasks and various medical procedures (such as trach care and suctioning, emptying her foley bag, maintaining her 24/7 Oxygen needs, etc, etc!) I can highly and confidently recommend Margarita for any Caregiver position or another job that requires a fast learner, a competent, kind and intelligent person who is able to "fit in" well with others and who treats others with respect, patience and kindness. Margarita is also very skilled on computers and was able to help Linda with some technical needs on her PC as well. She is the kind of employee that most employers would be grateful to have as an employee. Thank you for the opportunity to share some of Margarita's many talents, skills and abilities. Bonnie
