About Maria

I have been a nanny, caregiver and teacher all of my adult life. I have a gift for understanding and connecting with young people and I enjoy all aspects of nurturing and caring for children and their families. I am experienced in infant care, toddler training and preschool to high school developmental stages. I have worked with twins and children with special needs including Autism, Asperger's, ADHD, ODD, Sensory Integration Disorder and Cerebral Palsy, though I do not necessarily find these labels helpful or necessary to my work. I am interested in healthful living and always promote positive physical, emotional and social habits with the people in my care. I enjoy nature, music, arts and crafts, reading and teaching. I have a playful and caring spirit and I like to have fun with my young friends while working.
