About Maria Helena

Nurturing children is more than my job it's my calling. I hold a degree in Pedagogy and a postgraduate specialization in Early Childhood Education, with 8 years of professional experience as a classroom teacher in Brazil working with children ages 4-11. I bring a structured, intentional approach to childcare: I create routines that feel safe and fun, support homework and learning, and communicate consistently with parents through updates in their preferred format. I'm bilingual (English & Portuguese), CPR and First Aid certified, a safe driver, a safe swimmer, and comfortable with meal prep and household routines. I'm warm, proactive, and genuinely love building real connections with the kids in my care. I'm currently based in Darien, CT and available for a live-in or live-out position starting August 2026.
