I'm a loving, experienced nanny who is passionate about helping little ones explore and discover the world through play, music, stories, nature, and sensory activities.

I believe in love, respect, and patience, creating a safe and happy environment where every child can grow at their own pace.

I'm fluent in Spanish and Italian, with conversational English. I believe love is the universal language that connects us all!

I'm currently caring for a little one, and we're looking for a family in Berkeley interested in a nanny share for a child between 12 months and 3 years old, from January through May 2027.

I cannot express how wonderful it was having Mariela nanny our daughter. We hired Mariela when our daughter was 7 months old as my wife and I were transitioning back to work, and within days, Mariela felt like family. She is easygoing, loving, kind, creative, and patient. We felt so comfortable with her that we were completely at ease letting her take our daughter to the park alone after just a few days. Mariela is also incredibly dedicated; I have never once seen her be inattentive while caring for our child. She clearly loves children and thrives on interacting with them, always bringing new toys, books, and puppets to keep our baby engaged and entertained. Furthermore, her warm nature naturally attracts other parents and babies at the park, giving our daughter wonderful opportunities to socialize—something we couldn't provide otherwise. We now have a happy, playful toddler, and it is in no small part due to Mariela’s exceptional care. I would not hesitate for a second to work with her again.

We had a wonderful experience with Mariela taking care of our 1-year old for a couple of months. She is a very dedicated and invested nanny, and very easy going. She is very creative and has all sorts of toys and activities ready for the little ones, even for the older kids -- she occasionally looked after our 4yo too, including a few nights on the weekends when my husband and I had a date night. My little one was slow to crawl and walk and Mariela was working and exercising with him every day. She would take him out to the park, feed him and put him to sleep. 

Mariela is not only great with kids, she's also great with grown-ups :). She helped us tidy up the kitchen and lounge if she had the time, even though we never asked her to do so. We felt very comfortable with Mariela in the house, and we feel very lucky that we had Mariela looking after our son. We have two favorite nannies so far and Mariela is one of them (the other is in New Zealand!), and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a top caregiver!

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Mary is! Mary has made an incredibly positive impact on our family. She is more than a caretaker - she is truly dedicated to the development and happiness of children. She has worked with us since October 2021, taking care of our 2-year old daughter. Mary is loving, warm, attentive, creative, playful, and full of ideas that captivate our daughter's imagination. Mary has helped our daughter develop more confidence and social skills and introduce her to new songs, books and puppets. She has also helped with creating routines, and reinforcing potty training, hand washing and teeth brushing. She is extremely professional, always on time, prepares healthy foods and very conscious of health and safety. She is quite simply the best nanny, caretaker, and teacher to our daughter we could have ever imagined. I will happily share a more detailed recommendation by phone if you are lucky enough to work with Mary!

Mariela has been with us for the last year, since our son was 13 months old. She has taken care of him like he is her own and has filled our home with love, joy and laughter. She's focused on his safety, well-being and happiness. She has also taught him to speak Spanish, dance, use manners, count, and the list goes on. On top of that, she has arranged amazing, COVID-safe play dates with groups of other nannies and children at the park, where she leads the entire group of kids through dancing, music and puppet shows. She is full of energy and brings that energy with her every day. She is extremely reliable and easy to communicate with and has also been flexible when needed. Prior to working with our family, she worked with another family who also speaks so highly of her and they were right. Any family would be blessed to have Mary care for their children.

Mari is patient and present with our child, and other children in her charge, and has demonstrated tremendous responsibility in taking care of our son (and in taking care of her space in our household). She is kind, trustworthy and has a magic touch with children. She is empathetic and insightful and knows how to 'speak our child's language'. Our son has been particularly touched by her puppet skills and love of music.

It is clear to me that Mari is passionate about working with children. Her inspiration is manifested in her communication skills and creative ideas for activities. She keeps the children under her watch occupied and most importantly, safe.

Ultimately, Mari is an excellent nanny because she is so trustworthy. She is always on-time and held to high responsibility. My family has never known her not to be forthcoming and honest. She has fostered a true bond with our child and our family, and sets an example of empathy, character and respect but not without the FUN!

Mariela loves the children she cares for as her own. She brings joy, warmth and tenderness.

She really likes to engage with the kids and take them to various activities. We did not want organized activities for our son, as we prefer free play for his age, and she was willing to adapt to this. She is very reliable, communicative and responsive.

Our son quickly took to her and loved to spend time with her. 

She easily fit into our family rhythms, stepping in to help with whatever was needed, and being flexible to accommodate our schedule if something came up. 

It was a pleasure to work with her and get to know her.

Mariela has watched our 11-month old on several occasions shortly after we moved to the Bay. She radiates a warm and cheerful energy, which my son picked up on right away. She is a generous communicator and sends the cute pictures and updates, which immediately put me at ease - especially during our first visit. She enjoys the outdoors and takes my little one to the park. She has excellent attention to detail, going above and beyond to ensure that he finishes the meals that I send, and changes his clothes if they are soiled or wet. She has a variety of toys at her house, so I don't need to pack my own. In many ways, I feel like I'm treating my son when he is cared for by Mariela because she shows him such a lovely time - playing with puppets and singing, and reading books. The cherry on top is that she speaks Spanish fluently, which is a personal preference. I'd recommend Mariela wholeheartedly to other parents looking for a caring and warm person to care for their little ones.

She connects with children in a very special way. She has a natural way about her with kids - good instincts. She is a wonderful teacher of all things - art, music, play, story time and Spanish! I know that my daughter is in the best hands when I leave her. Couldn't recommend anyone higher than Mariela! She is the real deal.

I've met Mariella many times in playgrounds when I saw her taking care of a very cute baby, and just from seeing her with him I knew she is an amazing person and a wonderful Nanny. 
I am a very picky person, and as a new mom I had to triple check that my daughter will get the best care in the world. 
Mariella is all it. She has such a warm and caring heart that we even became good friends. 
Every time she was taking care of my daughter I was truly relaxed and confident that my daughter is in great hands! 

Mariela works as a substitute teachers at a Preschool, in Berkeley. She's reliable and is wonderful, attentive and a good teacher with the children. The first day she started working at the preschool, she already remembered all names of all the children in the classroom!

I would hire Mariela to work full time right away, but unfortunately, right now she cannot work the schedule that we need --- you are lucky if you can get her!

Mariela was and still is our babysitter for my 9,6 and 1 y o. She is excellent with children! One of the aspects of her personality that I appreciate the most is her ability to always keep the children calm. I feel safe and secure that my 3 kids are being taken care of well and given maximum attention. She also helps with baths, sings, plays and put them in bed. I feel very lucky to have her watching my kids.    
If you have the opportunity to hire Mariela as your babysitter or nanny, I would recommend strongly that you do so.
