About Marie

I'd describe my personality as kind, compassionate, & dedicated. I believe that everyone deserves to feel safe and cared for, even during more challenging phases of life. I know how difficult it can be to balance caring for loved ones with work or other responsibilities, and am happy to step in to help. I started caring for seniors in high school. I became a CNA (certified nursing assistant) and worked at an assisted living facility in Bedford, NH. While my certification is no longer active, I feel that the skills I learned during that period have carried me through many other jobs as well (such as Medical Assistant in doctors offices, nannying for children, etc). While living in Austin TX, I also spent days and nights caring for an elderly woman with dementia whose needs included: assistance with changing, bathing, socializing, eating, taking medications, and sometimes ambulating. My skills include redirecting, de-escalating emotional moments, & helping to keep a positive outlook.
