About Marina

Review for Marina: “Mari” has been working 15 hours a week for me for a month, combining two services: preparation of meals to last for two days at a time and a full range of personal caregiving, including bathing, administering medicine, and taking me to appointments. I highly recommend her on both levels of care. I am 97 years old and used to taking care of myself so I am sensitive about being provided, now, with some personal care. From the very beginning, Mari has made it easy to accept, always treating me with gentle, loving, and respectful assistance. I find her very obliging and willing to listen to my requests without insisting on her way of doing things. She is a professional caregiver and takes the time and thought to do it right. Mari is from the country of Georgia. Her English is still spare, but she is eager to learn, and is learning fast, keeping a book on special words as they enter her vocabulary. In any case, she is a great communicator. A woman of many talents, she is a Master Baker, plays the piano, and has done some teaching. She was also a nurse in Georgia which is a welcome expertise. From the beginning, she has always treated me with loving and professional care. Her attitude is we are in this together and will make it work as a team. This is now Alice’s daughter, Caroline, writing. I agree with everything my mother has said. I’d like to add that Mari is self-motivated and takes pride in her work. If there is time between her caregiving and cooking tasks, she will pick up a broom and sweep, empty the garbage, or bag leaves in the garden. She invests in the people she is serving and makes improvements to their environment. We hope Mari will stay with us through this aging process, and continue to contribute her warmth and energy to my mother and me.
