About Marisa

I have over a decade of experience working with adolescents inside the classroom and in after-school settings. My background is in the arts and humanities. I have over 30 years of dance experience, 25+ years of classical and self-taught music training, 5+ years of formal fine arts training, and a formal education in comparative religion and education. I also have five years of experience in the Montessori classroom; I spent two years in a preschool classroom, two years in upper elementary (grades 4-6) and one year in middle school/high school. My master's degree focused on exploring critical race theory in education. I am looking to work with small groups and families who would like to hire a certified teacher to work with their homeschool group remotely, particularly those who would are committed to equity and liberation in education. I can offer to lead literature groups, humanities subjects, and lessons in the arts.
