About Marissa

Hello, I'm Marissa! I have over 10 years of experience in caring for little ones. I have an AA in Early Childhood Education specializing in special education and trauma informed care. After working as a Lead Teacher and Administrator at a child development center in Carlsbad for 9 years, I chose to shift my career focus toward nursing. Currently, I am certified as a Nursing Assistant with additional certifications in infant, pediatric and adult CPR, first aid, and BLS (basic life support). Since making this shift to healthcare, I have worked pediatrics with medically fragile children, mental health, and trauma department of a large hospital. Over the next few years, I will be working towards my RN in pediatrics. After most recently experiencing the pace and intensity of working trauma in the hospital setting, I am hoping to slow down a bit and reconnect to my love of caring for children.
