About Marissa

Hi! My name is Marissa and I'm from Hollis, NH. I graduated from Endicott College last May, with my Bachelor's Degree and licensure in Elementary Education and currently obtaining my Masters degree in Special Education. I currently work in Harvard, MA as a special education support teacher, so I'm ideally looking for a summer position as I have the summer off! I have worked with students from the preschool age up through fifth grade. I love teaching math as it has always been my favorite subject! However, I have had a great deal of experience using different reading programs and working with children on basic skills such as letter-suns relationships, phonemic and phonological awareness (sounds put together to make words) all the up through skills such as fluency, comprehension and higher-level thinking with skills such as inferring. I am very upbeat and excited bout teaching, but also am a very patient person as I know each and every child learns at a different pace!
