Many people need help with daily tasks, whether they are seniors or people with special needs. They deserve respect, compassion and kindness. Many of them wish to remain in their own homes and preserve as much of their independence as possible. This is a noble goal! A companion caregiver can help them achieve that goal by providing assistance, as needed, with various daily tasks. A loved one's quality of life can be enhanced with someone helping, and sometimes just a few hours per week is all that is needed. Outside help can make a world of difference, both for the loved one in need and their family members. When independence is preserved, people are able tor retain their dignity and pride. I have witnessed this with my own parents, as well as with my young adult niece, who is autistic. Seeing their challenges led me to rethink what it really means to make a difference, and has subsequently put me on a different path in life. I spent many years in property management but have decided to embark on a new journey. I have recently left my job to focus on companion care for those in need. My career experience up until this point was lacking a sense of purpose, but caring for others leaves me feeling gratified, so I am moving towards a career in social work. Enabling someone to maintain their dignity, along with the lifestyle that they have been accustomed to, is the goal. There is a great need out there for help because families are sometimes overwhelmed with responsibility. Being able to have faith in a caregiver and feel comfortable with them is imperative. I am trustworthy, dependable and compassionate. I have many local references that are available upon request.
